What is NBT?

NBT stands for Neurophysiological Biomarker Toolbox and runs on MATLAB.
The NBT aims to streamline the workflow from acquisition of EEG and behavioral data to visualization of significant effects.

The global workflow is:

  1. Develop experimental protocol.
  2. Perform experiments.
  3. Clean EEG for artifacts.
  4. Characterize EEG ⇒ visualization & statistics.
  5. Characterize behavioral data ⇒ visualization & statistics.
  6. Relate brain & cognition ⇒ visualization & statistics of significant correlations between EEG biomarkers and behavioral scores.

How do I use the NBTwiki?

On each page you can click “edit” to edit the page (see the syntax here).

How do I install NBT on my computer?

If you just want to use it; simply download NBT : Download and install NBT

Do I need MATLAB to use the NBT?

Yes. You will need MATLAB version 2008b or higher. You will also need the following toolboxes:

  • Signal processing toolbox
  • Statistics toolbox

I have a bunch of EEG files, how do I analyze them with the NBT?

To analyze a bunch of EEG files you should use the NBTrunAnalysis script template. See How to use NBTrunAnalysis to run biomarker analysis
